Soy
Doesn’t soy cause health problems in laboratory animals?
Here are some of the reasons why animal studies on soy are not applicable to humans:
- Soy is injected into animals, which produces a different response than when soy is consumed through the diet.
- The amount of soy put into lab animals is typically much greater than that which could be obtained through diet.
- Soy–like many other substances–acts differently in different species.
I’ve heard that Asians only consume soy in small amounts. Is that true?
Soy consumption varies widely throughout Asia. Some Asian populations consume high amounts of soy–and are extremely healthy and long-lived.
